Detailed
Description
Columns 2247-2362 are a motion and related debate on approving the report and recommendations of the Palestine Royal Commission on Palestine (Peel Commission). The Royal Commission on Palestine under the chairmanship of Earl Peel, was appointed by the British government on Aug. 7, 1936, to study the underlying causes of the Arab riots. In July 1937 the commission presented its report recommending the partitioning of Palestine into a Jewish state, an Arab state, and a British mandatory enclave, but its recommendations were not implemented.
