Description
   Anti-Semitic work by Rudolph Friedrich von Moser. The full title is Die Juden und ihre Wünsche: ein publicistischer Versuch (The Jews and their desires: a publicistís trial (attempt)). There is an introductiont hat begins Meinen theuren Vaterland. The text is divided into parts, the first entitled Zulässigkeit er Juden zum Bürgerrechte. Juridischer und Staatsrechtlicher Standpunkt (Admissibility of the Jews to civil rights. A Juridicial and Constitutional Perspective), followed by Religioser Standpunkt. Vom Standpunkt des Christenthums aus; and Vom Standpunkte des Judenthums aus: Ueber die Grundlagen der judischen Religion (and from the perspecitve of Jews. On the basis of the Jewish religion. The book is replete with quotes from early sources on Jews and Jewish subjects, from Jewish and non-Jewish sources. For example, Dietrrich Wchwab in his judischen Deckmantel (Collmn, 1616); Hieronymous de sancta fide contra Judaeos (Zürch, 1552), and Victor von Carben, Judenbüchlein (1550). Jewish works quoted include Zemach David, Talmudic tractates, Zeror Ha-Mor, Abravanel, Maimonides, and many others. An example of the use of a Jewish source is the following from Zeror Ha-Mor, Der Zweck der Erschaffung der Welt war allein Israel!!! Die Welt is der Israeliten wegen erschaffen worden; sie sind die Frucht, die übrigen Wölker aber die Schaalen (The purpose of the creation of the world was only Israel!!! The world was created because of is of the Israelites; they are the fruit, the remaining peoples are the chafe.

The second part of Die Juden und ihre Wünsche is a supplement with quotes from the Talmud, on the Jew Suss Oppenheimer, thee Jews in Austria and other subjects.
