   Only edition. viii, 250; [4], 311, [1] pp. octavo 207:130 mm., wide margins, light age staining, stamps. A very good copy bound in contemporary half cloth and marbled paper over boards.
   Biblical interpretation and Christian polemic by the evangelical theologian Dr. August Köhler. Der weissagungen Sacharjas is in two parts, the first printed in 1861 including chapters 1-8, the second part, printed in 1863 containing chapters 9-14. Each apart has facing title pages, the first describing it as die Nachexilischen Propheten (the post exile prophets, and on the facing page Der weissagungen Sacharjas, this latter the title by whichthe book is known. The first part has bith a forward and introduction in which einleitung discusses names and personalities and their forms in the Hebrew language. The actual text is biblical explication from a Chrisitan theologianís viewpoint. Köhlerís specialty was concentrated on the study of the history of Israel and its relevance. Given his conservative views he was subject to criticism from the Wellhausen school of biblical criticism.

Köhlerís other books include Die weissagungen Haggai's erklärt (1860), Lehrbuch der biblischen Geschichte Alten Testamentes (1875-93), and Ueber die Grundanschauungen des Buches Koheleth : Rede beim Antritt des Protectorats der könig (1885), all pubished in Erlangen.
