Certificate, pp., 386:279 mm., light age staining, creased and taped on folds, ink on printed paper form, signed by all members of the society.
This is a copy of a certificate labelled NO. 19, and dated 10 September, 1892. Israel Fallik is certified as a member of a group called the Czernowitzer Psalmer-Vereins "Chabira Thilim", which was founded in December 10, 1873. It is signed by 10 people and stamped with an official stamp (the type of stamp for which taxes are paid), in addition to a rubber stamp with the words Psalm Verein Czernowitz surrounding the Hebrew words שנת חבורה תהלים. The recital of the whole Book of Psalms is widespread, whether as an act of piety by saintly individuals, or by groups of unlearned people. For this purpose "societies of reciters of psalms" (hevrot tehillim) were and continue to be formed, and in recent times a special society has been formed in Jerusalem whereby two separate groups recite the whole Book of Psalms daily at the Western Wall. The psalms are included in their entirety in all large prayer books.
