Detailed
Description
Only edition of this collection of Hassidic discourses festivals by R. Menashah ben Issachar Baer Eichenstein. The title page describes it as being on Shabbat, Roshei Hodashim, and festivals from R. Menashah Eichenstein, the son of the admor, the righteous R. Issachar Baer, av bet din of Alsoverczke. There is a very brief introduction from the author, followed by a lengthier piece on the Targum on parashah Tissa, brought so that the page would not be blank (due to the need to complete the quire). The text follows, in two columns in rabbinic type. The first discourse is a ma’amar on kiddushat Shabbat, followed by Rosh Hodesh Nissan, Pesah, aharon shel Pesah, and ending with parshah Zekhor and Purim.

R. Menashah Eichenstein (1865-1935), a Zanzer hassid, was the son of R. Issachar Baer of Alsoverczke and the son-in-law of R. Joshua Horowitz of Dzikov. He published his first book, Alfei Manasseh on Shulhan Arukh Hoshen Mishpat (Przemysl, 1895). He later returned to Alsoverczke, and upon the death of R. Joshua Heschel of Rzeszov succeeded him as rabbi in 1904. He resided in Munkacs after World War I, and, in 1927, became rebbe in Alsoverczke. Among his other works are Torah ha-Asham (Podgorze, 1904) on ritual purity and uncleanliness and Alfei Manasseh (Munkacs, 1935) on the Torah.
