Detailed
Description
Hebrew work on geopgrahy by Asher Radin. The subtitle of Ha-Geografyah ha-Ketannah states that its purpose is to instruct on the globe of the earth and that it is a condensed work. That refers to the fact that it is a condensation of a German textbook. The verso of the title page quotes from the Barisa, Rabbi Yossi says, Woe to those people who see but do not realize what they are seeing, who stand but do not realize what they are standing on (Hagigah 12b). The Barisa continues, the earth. This is followed by Radins introduction that begins that Ha-Geografyah is knowledge of all inhabited parts with their nomenclature by land which valuable information about the world. Radin wishes to be of some assistance the education of Jewish children, to cover their embarrassment in comparison to gentile children, who by the age of ten are already knowledgeable in this subject. He has therefore translated this work so that they, the Jewish children, may know the basic fundamentals of this subject.

There is a detailed table of contents. Ha-Geografyah ha-Ketannah is divided into two parts, the first general knowledge about the earth in ten sections, subdivided into thirty six chapters, and a second part, in two sections, subdivided into twenty four chapters. The text is in one column in square letters.
