On the laws and rules of music with the essay on the renewas of Hebrew song by Aryeh Leib Biska. A brief prefatory remark exhorts every one who reads Hebrew, and needless to say, sings nigunim, to read the discourse on the renewal of Hebrew song at the beginning of the work. Torat ha-Musika has approbations from R. Israel Jacob ha-Kohen Jaffe of Manchester and R. Nathan Solomon Greenspan of Leiden. The text, in a single column in square letters, begins with the essay on the renewal of Hebrew song, which is divided into three parts and a conclusion. The parts are entitled the sources of Hebrew song; musical voices; and avarot gorrarot avarot. The text of Torat ha-Musika is comprised of eight chapters with musical notations, examples and detailed footnotes.
