Demanding the restoration of Kollel Habad's apartment, being illegally used by another kollel. R. Menahem Mendel b. Moshe Zevi Noe (Ashkenazi; 1867-1938) was born in Kolyshki, White Russia and immigrated to Erez Israel at age 18. A Habad disciple, and noted torah scholar his colleagues included, R. Elijah b. Suleiman Mani (1818–1899), Chief Rabbi of Hebron and R. Hayyim Hezekiah b. Raphael Elijah Medini (1832–1904), author of Sedi Hemed. In Hebron he headed the Magen Avot Yeshiva and replaced the Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi R. Solomon Leib Eliazarov in 1904 when R. Eliazarov left for Russia. His halakhic writings are recorded in Sedi Hemed and other period works. His son, R. Abraham Hayyim Noe, likewise records many of his teachings.
