A sharp responsa, demanding that women who swim in co-ed pools be immediately divorced by their husbands. The rabbi emphatically stresses that such an act desecrates the Mosaic Religion and demands divorce. Furthermore, the man who swims with her "has no part in the world to come."

R. Jonathan b. Zvi Steif (1877-1958), was a prominent rabbinical scholar, served in prestigious communities. A student of the Ktav Sofer, he was appointed to the Budapest Rabbinical court in 1923. After the Holocaust he settled in the United States where his views and responsa were widely accepted. Several of his works were published in Europe during his lifetime, several books of collected responsa and novella were printed in Brooklyn after his demise.
