Description Information
[199] ff., 242:172 mm., ink on thick, strong paper, 22 lines per page, beautiful square Yemenite hand. 24 ff. are replacements written in a later 19th century hand. Relative to its old age it is generally in good condition, the well-used parts such as Psalms and Song of Songs have distinct usage stains, tears and slight loss of text.
Writings with vowels and intonations according to the Tiberian Massoretic system. Written on paper by Khalif Ben Daoud (Halfon Ben David).

The beginning of each book and chapter and the total number of verses noted after each book, were artistically decorated in red ink. With an accompanying essay by Professor Shlomo Zucker who describes the excellent scribe who copied the manuscript, and mentions that books of Prophets and Writings from Yemen are rare because usually only the Taj books (the Five Books of Torah with Haftarot) were copied from the Bible.

The Writings are in the order mentioned in the Braita of tractate Bava Batra (leaf 14b): Ruth, Job, Proverbs, Kohelet, the Song of Songs, Lamentations, Daniel, Esther, Ezra (including Nehemiah) and Chronicles, and not in the conventional order.
