Pamphlet commemorating the completion of the Talmud. The title page states it is the seventh year, that they have delighted in and eaten the bread of heaven, having eaten “the bread of angels” (psalms 78:25). They have fulfilled and accepted, the members of this precious group, and their children after them, at the time of the founding of “Lomdei ha-Shass” in the district of ÷å÷ì, on the day of the hillula of Moses (7 Adar), 648 (Sunday February 19, 1888), to learn and complete and the Babylonian Talmud each and every year. They have gathered and come together, leading rabbis, with thousands of learners and lovers of Torah, to celebrate, with “the voice of mirth, and [the voice] of gladness” (Jeremiah, var. cit.) with love and brotherhood at the time of this general assembly, the festival of the completion of Shass, on Wednesday Rosh Hodesh Sivan in the yearçééí áøëä åùîçä (654 = 1894). There is a forward (iii-v) from îùä"÷ ñåôø áä"â îäøàùá"ñ. It is followed by the takkanot accepted by the group at the assembly. It concludes with a list of deceased members followed by a significantly longer list of current members, giving their names, locations, and the tractates that they have undertaken to learn. An important piece of Judaica related to the learning of Talmud.
